Harvest Table

  1. Timber frame support
  2. Barn board table top

In 2011, The Piggery (an Ithaca deli and local meats emporium) hired Hammerstone Builders (then Double Dog Timberworks) to build a timber framed harvest table for their lunch counter.  This 14 foot long table has a solid base constructed with hand cut, pegged, mortise and tenon joinery.  The table top is constructed from two salvaged hemlock slabs from a local barn floor.  The tabletop is coated with bar-top epoxy to give it a washable surface while preserving the character of the rough weathered boards beneath.  The table now resides at the roastery of Gimme! Coffee, another famous local food establishment.
